Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig!

Vegas was lots of fun! We left on thursday and came back Sunday. Thursday Night we walked down part of the strip. We went to Ceasar's Palace and had dinner at the Cheese Cake Factory.

We planned this trip with Elisabeth and Alex, and we're so glad we did! That just made it all the more fun!

Then of course we had to go play at FAO SCHWARTZ!!! Although not as big or as fun as the Seattle version... it was still entertaining!

The next day we went up and down the strip and tried to see a bit of everything!

Everybody loves M&M'S... We just happen to really like the blue ones! ;) Unfortunately, blue got away before we could get a bite!

And we finished the day at The Hard Rock Cafe.

On Saturday we went to a CHEAP shoe store where J got some tennies and I got some killer boots! We also went to the outlets for a little bit. However the highlight of the day was going to the Temple! The pics are on Elisabeth's camera so I'll try to post those when I get them from her. The temple is BEAUTIFUL!!! Yes, that's obvious, but it was more beautiful in ways I had not expected. It was a great experience, and probably my favorite part of the trip! We went to the famous Ci Ci's pizza for dinner and then back to the Sahara hotel where we relaxed and played games.

Las Vegas Here We Come!

Yes, we are headed down to Las Vegas Nevada tomorrow morning! WooHoo!!! We are in desperate need of a vacation, so this will be nice! I will (hopefully) find the time to write about it when we get back! Don't miss us to much!!! ; D

A.F.C.U FOOTBALL

This is J in all of his gear! J and Al were really excited to play in this tournament. Or really just to play football in general!

Oh, yes they even have matching jerseys! You'd think these two were twins if you didn't know better!

I wish I had a picture but I can't find it... so I'll describe it. Although they were playing flag football, most of the men there didn't exactly seem opposed to tackeling each other. Jacob was the receiver of a few tackles, one of which his face was involved! I know I shouldn't laugh but it was pretty funny! His lip was all swollen and bruised... I think he was pretty proud of all his battle wounds though.

Better late than never!

This all started on Christmas day! Rod and Jolene (Jacob's parents) handed all of us a gift and said that we would all have to open them at the same time... Problem is, they turbo taped ours and probably didn't even tape theirs. Well they BLASTED us with silly string! So the war broke out and we all had a great time! They thought the war was over... But they were wrong! Alex, Elisabeth, Jacob and I spent new years eve with them. The plan was to blast them at the stroke of midnight! And we got them good!!! They leaned in for their new years kiss and we silly stringed them!

And yes we made them stay that way until we could find the camera!

So we spent the rest of the night playing games and eating junk... We stayed up till 3:30 or 4:00 am. We had so much fun! That's what the holidays are for!

Whats new???

Things are staying pretty much the same over here in the Hoffmann house... However a few things are new. I am now working for a doc instead of the nurse practitioners! Although work is a lot more demanding of my time now, the change was probably the best thing for me.. and for J's sanity. So that is going very well. Jacob is still working at the credit union. He and Alex are playing in the football tournament that the company is putting on. So he's been hitting the gym everyday! I am now trying to train for a marathon. I just started but I have untill the summer and so far things are going good. I have a training buddy and she keeps me on track and checks in with me daily. So, in the summer of 2009 you can expect some 26 mile finish line pictures on here. And if I decide to be a quitter (becuase my body hurts already) you guys can give me crap for not sticking it out.

Our recent adventures

So we stepped in to the crazy mode of life for a little bit. About a week ago J woke up sick in the middle of the night. I woke up with him of course. We waited to see if his pain would go away but it was persistent. As I'm looking through the medicine cabinet (not able to find his very last pain killer) the pain gets worse and so we rushed off to the hospital. The docs and nurses give him iv fluids and meds, take blood, and body scans. Nothing. They don't know whats wrong with him, which has been the case in the past. So they waited for the pain to pass and let us go. I put him back to bed at 6:30 am and tried frantically to find somebody to cover the first part of my work day while I got some shut eye. I did get it covered and I also told Jacobs boss that he wouldn't be in for a few hours if at all. So we both got a bit of sleep. A few hours later, I hopped out of the shower to get dressed and ready for work and on my way to my room I stepped in a wet spot on the carpet... hmm that's weird... so we thought that my feet were still wet from the shower and I got the carpet wet... no biggy right... WRONG!!! I, in fact did not have wet feet and did not get the carpet wet. We open the door to one of our landlords storage closets and it's completely flooded. The water crept under the door and soaked our carpet from the pad up. It only got worse from there. As our landlord and her little helpers are trying to fix the problem, they are making it worse, turning that storage room and our bathtub into a fountain of sewage! SICK! So, we spent the next couple days and nights at Jacob's parents home. (THANK HEAVENS FOR FAMILY) When we came home, the carpet was not shampooed or cleaned... so our apartment reaked! I had to convince our landlord to carpet clean it... that was not an easy task.. so we spent another night at Rod and Joleen's place. Finally it was livable. We febreezed our entire house and soaked everything in bleach... and then life went mostly back to normal. So they say these things come in threes and we're hoping we got lucky and skipped the third... but we'll just have to wait and see!

Meet the Hoffmanns

Well, this is us! We have been married for just over a year, and we've loved every minute of it!!! Everyone tells us that we're so happy because we're still in the "Newlywed" phase... But it's our goal to be in the newlywed stage for eternity! We are STILL going to school. We'll probably be in school for the rest of FOREVER! Jacob is working at a credit union and majoring in Radiology Tech. Elaina is working as a medical assistant at an OBGYN clinic and will be majoring in Surgical Tech. We love to watch movies, play games, and ride around town on "our" scooter. We are actually renting it from J's brother. If he's not careful, he may never get it back... we've been sucked in and now we're addicted. More about us coming soon!
