What's happening at the Hoffmann house
Life gets busy but it's always full of fun! So here is an update of what we've been up to lately!

We have found that we love to cook together! Jacob can crack an egg with one hand and not get any shells in his mix! I can't even do that with two hands! It's a good thing I made us some aprons, because you will rarely find Jacob cooking in something other than a white shirt!

J is a much better baker than I am so I usually let him do the baking! And his cake was DELICIOUS!
Rodney (My dad-in-law) taught me how to do some Utah gardening, which you'll see from the pictures of the green beans we planted, is a lot harder than gardening in Washington. it seems like things just like to grow in WA but they have a harder time when planted in rocky clay soil by inexperienced hands.
Rod did one row and I did the other... that way we would be assured that something would grow ;)
Can you guess what row I planted? Yes, that would be the shabby one with the giant gap in the middle! I'm so proud of my little bean plants even if I only got a few. They're about 2 inches tall now, and believe it or not several more have popped up and are starting to catch up with the others
Yesterday I ran the Nestles 5K in Springville! I made pretty good time... for me anyway. I ran the race with Janni which was super fun! It was nice to have a running buddy, especially for the GIGANTIC hill we had to climb!
We're just so excited that we actually made it up that killer hill!

After a couple weeks of healing he went back to physical therapy to fully recover.
We forgot to tell you that Jacob had surgery on February 18th. He had a warn rotator cuff that just wasn't getting better with physical therapy, so surgery was the next step.
I'm pulling off his original bandage so we can get him cleaned up and put a new bandage on. and boy was that stuff STICKY! OUCH!

Bill Cosby
So this is my first time blogging and E says that I need to "get in on this", so here I am "getting in on this". We had the coolest Valentines day ever!!! E bought me (us) tickets to see the best comedian of all time,

This was one of the greatest gifts I have ever received!!! We went to dinner at Famous Dave's BBQ, courtesy of ma and pa Dillie's gift card from Christmas-thank you, and then to the the main event.

We had more fun than a fat kid in a candy store!!!! He was the greatest and so worth the money. This was a dream of mine for many years, yet I never thought I would have the opportunity to see him perform. All of this was brought to you impart by my loving wife!! She heard the advertisement on the radio and went for it before the tickets were sold out. She gave them to me for Christmas, so the hardest part was waiting for the time to finally arrive!! Now it's my turn to surprise her, don't know with what yet, but it will come to me; insperation happens to be my jar of pickles!!

24 This Year!
This is what my sweetheart surprised me with for my birthday this year! He wrote a poem about us and framed it with our picture! How thoughtful and sweet! I love it! He really knows how to melt my heart!
It's the story of you and I.
And because of our temple marriage,
It will continue even after we die.
--
Our lives were forever changed,
As you introduced yourself to me.
We were in college at the time,
We soon knew it was meant to be.
--
We had many memorable dates,
I had the thought that "this could last."
We each had previous relationships,
But both of us soon forgot the past.
--
We threw pennies in the well,
Danced and had our first kiss.
Danced and had our first kiss.
If I had nothing in my life,
It is you I know I would miss.
--
As we stood there embracing the moment,
Looking up at all the stars,
Our love for each other was too great,
To fill any number of jars.
--
As time went on our love grew,
Something we thought could not be done.
Each day we spent together,
Our love increased one whole ton.
--
We spent many days together,
And so very few apart.
As time went on I realized,
You had secretly unlocked my heart.
--
You knew you wanted marriage,
Even after dating six months.
It took me a little longer,
I was the world's biggest dunce.
--
You calmly stood by my side,
And patiently waited for me.
It took me over two years,
To open my eyes and see.
--
You are the only one for me,
No one else in this world can compare.
I hope you still think I'm good looking,
Even after I've lost all my hair.
--
We got married for eternity,
And started this journey together.
When things get tough and hard,
It is the storm we must weather.
--
For when we have our children,
God's blessings they will be.
Our family unit forever,
You mean the world to me!

A new semester!
I have started a new semester! I am taking anatomy as well as nutrition. I'm excited for nutrition because it will help me to remember all of the things I'm supposed to be doing to stay healthy! Yum... now I actually have to buy all those delicious foods... and better yet remember they are there and need to be eaten.
Nutrition is a passion of mine. If I didn't want to be a nurse so bad, and If I wanted to stay in school for four or five more years... I would be a nutritionist!. Speaking of passions... I am SUPER EXCITED about taking anatomy. It is going to be a challenge. However, I find the human body fascinating! The fact that our cells just know what to do. That 2 simple cells can get together and duplicate over and over again until they created a fully functioning human being! CRAZY! Heavenly Father really knows what he's doing!
I've learned that Da Vinci was a brilliant anatomist. He studied the human body to improve his art work. I get to study a cadaver during my anatomy lab this semester! This will be a new... completely AWESOME experience for me! I can not wait till we start studying with them!
All the while my J has been amazing. He picked me up for lunch today so we could have time together. If that surprise wasn't enough, I came home and the laundry was done and the dishes were in the dishwasher! I couldn't ask for a better friend and husband! I really couldn't do this without him! J will start school FULL TIME in the fall, and then we might have to find someone else to do the laundry and the dishes... ;)Sunday, January 10, 2010
Happy Holidays!!!
So this may be a little late... better late than never. We had fun with family for thanksgiving! and Jacob had fun at the annual neighborhood turkey bowl.

And then Christmas came. Note: Jacob and I are firm believers that Christmas should not start until after thanks giving, so 2 days after the day of the grateful, we decorated for one of the best holiday's of the year! CHRISTMAS!!!
Yes it looks like J is the only one actually decorating... Keep in mind I'm the one with the camera.

Christmas eve dinner was very glamorous! We gad grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup (My favorite) with sparkling cider (Jacob's favorite). We had a nice relaxed eve and watched the one and only The Christmas Story!
Christmas day was spent at Jacob's parents house! We spent the day playing games and relaxing. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!!!

My Cinderella?
This is a big THANK YOU to my loving hubby! When I was making the big decision of wether or not to continue with school my J told me that no matter what my choice was he 100% supports me! When I made my decision, to stay in school (for what seems like forever) he kept his word. This is how he spent his weekend.

As if scrubbing the floors wasn't enough...
Jake and Ben took my VERY OLD break pads and rotors off and put new ones on. (I don't really know what rotors are for or if I even spelt it right. But the boys worked hard and made a big difference!)

THANK YOU JACOB! I couldn't do it with out you!!!
