My Cinderella?

This is a big THANK YOU to my loving hubby! When I was making the big decision of wether or not to continue with school my J told me that no matter what my choice was he 100% supports me! When I made my decision, to stay in school (for what seems like forever) he kept his word. This is how he spent his weekend.
He cleaned our house, and even scrubbed the floor by hand with a rag. (we don't own a mop.) I had to sneak a picture because he was working so hard... and he really did remind me of cinderella while he was scrubbing the floors.

As if scrubbing the floors wasn't enough...

Jake and Ben took my VERY OLD break pads and rotors off and put new ones on. (I don't really know what rotors are for or if I even spelt it right. But the boys worked hard and made a big difference!)

THANK YOU JACOB! I couldn't do it with out you!!!

more motorcycles

Jacob's brother (Ben) and sister (Rachel) have bikes too. We all went for a ride and we thought these pictures were fun!
Left to right: Rachel (yes they painted her bike pink! A girls gotta have a bike that matches all of her cute pink gear!) Jason (he's Rachel's beau) Ben and Angela (she's Ben's girlfriend) on the red one, and us on the far right!

Alex and Elisabeth drove behind us and took these pics! We were all headed to Leatherby's for some DELICIOUS ice cream!

New Toys!

New toys are always fun! Especially if they are big, fast and powerful, according to Tim the tool man taylor. Jacob was super excited to finally have his motorcycle He loves it!
Notice he still has his bandages from the crash? We must be insane!

Battle Wonds

Jacob says that I'm accident prone... But I say he's accident prone, I'm just oops prone. I'm known for things like almost always spilling my glass of juice on the carpet, dropping a vase and shattering it, etc. in short I'm a klutz. BUT Jake is amazing at getting in big accidents! It seems that he's always getting hurt! He's just your classic boy, who works hard and plays harder! So, here's our most recent adventure!

Long story short, Jacob was riding home on the scooter and some kid didn't bother to look before he changed lanes and moved right into Jake's Liane and almost hit him. Lucky for us, Jacob knew what to do to avoid getting hit. Unfortunately it didn't keep him from crashing! So, here's some pictures of his road rash. We had already started cleaning before we took pictures. I wish I could have gotten a few oozing bloody ones for ya! Sorry! It still looks pretty cool though.

During and after cleaning

this one is his tricep. It doesn't look too bad, but this one hurt a bit more than the other ones in the beginning.

Elisabeth and I cleaned him up with Hydrogen peroxide! Can you see all the bubbling down his arm? It's hard to see, but the road rash in these pictures goes from just below his elbow and then tapers all the way down to his wrist!

FHE Idea

We went to the Ogden Raptor's Game a few weeks ago! America First Credit Union (that's where Jake works) gave us free tickets. We had lots of fun! But that is not the FHE idea... scroll down.

When we got to the entry gate and showed our tickets, the ticket ladies handed us these cute little "Carmel Cob's" It's just carmel corn shaped to look like corn on the cob. So, here comes the FHE idea..
If you have little ones, cut out some paper in the shape of corn husks and let your kids color them while you (and maybe the older kids) make the carmel corn and shape it. Once the corn and the husks are done, place the corn in the husk so it looks like a corn on the cob. You may want to put the camel corn on a popsickle stick and then wrap the corn husks around them... this will probably be easier for the kids to hold and keep their hands from getting super sticky. That can be your entire Family Home Evening or you can end it by watching a movie with your kids and your cob, or playing fun farm games.

We aren't blessed with children yet, so we haven't done this FHE. If you try it, let me know how it goes! I'd love to know what went well and what might need to be changed! Hope you have fun!

Wow! Summer is going by sooo fast!

In July we celebrated our 2nd anniversary! We spent the day with Alex and Elisabeth (they were celebrating their first anniversary) We went to the Zoo, dinner and a movie. After we split up we went to a cute little bed and breakfast in the Avenues of SLC.

Do we really have that much in common??? ;) Or maybe it's just what Jacob and the Monkey's have in common.... :)

This guy is the Hoffman sloth... we thought they'd let us take him home... since he's ours... but the zoo keeper took him back before we could get him in the car. Really though... he wasn't in a cage or anything, he was just chillin in one of the buildings on a tree. we walked right under him!
We saw these cute little monkey's! JB put his hands up to the glass and this little guy came up and put his hands wherever J put his! Cute. So I tried too!

We went to Idaho twice this summer. The 1st time was for Ryan and Katie's Baby blessing. They blessed cute little Nathan Allen Curtis! J stood in the circle and I'm the designated scribe. We've had the same jobs with both of their kids so lets see if we can keep the tradition alive! We stayed the night at Grandma Dille's! It was nice to see her! THEN we drove up again for the family reunion, which was tons of fun as it always is! On the drive home................................

OUR TIRE BLEW!!!

Lucky for us Jacob was driving and knew it happened right away, while oblivious me was sitting there wondering why in the heck we were pulling over! AND GUESS WHAT! There isn't a jack in my car! CRAP! So a BIG Thanks to Jacob's awesome cousin JASON who came and rescued us!!! Also lucky for us our tire was still under warranty and we got a new one Free! Plus DISCOUNT TIRE employees are GREAT and pointed out how horrible two of our other tires were (they were pretty darn bad) and switched them for us too! Always an adventure!

Firsts

Yes we have more firsts! I'm super behind on our blogging... so we'll count this as catch up!while we were in Washington (yes, I know that was forever ago) J had his very first Cinabon! mmmmm, yummy! and he loved it!
And I made my very first Turkey! Thank you to Mom and Karina for letting me constantly pester you with my worries! Thanks to my Mother-in-law Jolene for her Turkey advice as well. The Turkey turned out great, AND we still had a kitchen after the fact... so it went pretty well. :)
I also ran my very first 5K race with Elisabeth! We had a blast! We beat our best time by 10 minutes. We were super pumped for the Race for the Cure! We have made a goal to do a 10K and hopefully a half marathon!

The Museum of Flight

While we were in Washington, we went to the museum of flight! It was AWESOME! They've added a lot of exhibits since I was last there, when I was in elementary school... I will say this, If you go visit Washington, the museum of flight is a must see! If you live in WA and you've never been.... SHAME ON YOU! :)

Thank you Dad for being able to get us in for free and being our tour guide! We had so much fun spending the day with you! It was great!!!

I just thought this little car plane was the cutest thing ever! This one on your right is one of
J's favorite planes. I believe it's called a corsair... But you'd have to ask him! It's pretty sweet looking though.

This is his corsair again. and the little yellow one is one of my favorites from the day of seeing a ton of cute old planes!

We went to astronaut school and we were so darn good that they sent us out to space that day! I think Jacob's air tank broke... that might be why he's holding his breath! Or if you've seen Rocket Man, that might explain it too... hmmm.

Grandpa Randall served in World War II as a pilot in the Air Force. This is a B17 bomber, the plane he flew in the war. They actually offer rides in this one, so out of curiosity we asked how much it cost for one person to take a quick trip. Can you guess??? $430.00 Crazy!

Have You Ever Had Lobster?

We went to Washington to visit my of the family! And Jacob has never had lobster! So my parents took us to Red Lobster, so Jacob could have his very first taste of those delicious little creepy sea animals. It was very nice of them to pay too.
We went to dinner with Michelle, Nick, Landen, baby Grant, and Mom and Dad. We gave Grant's baby blanket to Michelle when they got there. I was so EXCITED! but you'll hear more about that later.

He got so excited that he tried to shove the entire thing in his mouth at once!!! ;)

And there it is! His very first, and possibly last (money doesn't grow on trees you know!) Lobster!

Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jig!

Vegas was lots of fun! We left on thursday and came back Sunday. Thursday Night we walked down part of the strip. We went to Ceasar's Palace and had dinner at the Cheese Cake Factory.

We planned this trip with Elisabeth and Alex, and we're so glad we did! That just made it all the more fun!

Then of course we had to go play at FAO SCHWARTZ!!! Although not as big or as fun as the Seattle version... it was still entertaining!

The next day we went up and down the strip and tried to see a bit of everything!

Everybody loves M&M'S... We just happen to really like the blue ones! ;) Unfortunately, blue got away before we could get a bite!

And we finished the day at The Hard Rock Cafe.

Jacob's always pulling face! and there's never a dull moment with him!

On Saturday we went to a CHEAP shoe store where J got some tennies and I got some killer boots! We also went to the outlets for a little bit. However the highlight of the day was going to the Temple! The pics are on Elisabeth's camera so I'll try to post those when I get them from her. The temple is BEAUTIFUL!!! Yes, that's obvious, but it was more beautiful in ways I had not expected. It was a great experience, and probably my favorite part of the trip! We went to the famous Ci Ci's pizza for dinner and then back to the Sahara hotel where we relaxed and played games.
